Legal Information. Aqualand Pets Plus held their first hermit crab race March 20, 2004. Their event was sanctioned by the International Hermit Crab Racing Association. All participants were certified by the IHCRA prior to the event and agreed to comply with their stringent rules and regulations. Safety crews were on duty and no hermit crabs were injured in the event.
