Epilogue:
These later batches seem much hardier than my earlier
shipments, but they look a bit shop worn -- as if they've been in low pH
water for months and it has dissolved their shells. In any event,
these are interesting little beasties and I'm starting to like the sobriquet
"elephant snails" for them. LA
