Origins.  Originally from the portion of the Congo River that runs thru Cameroon..  However, we're seeing smaller Synodontis schoutedenis that indicate someone out there is breeding them.

Attractive.  I'm prejudiced in that I like all the Synodontis.  Still. the extra colors on the mature Synodontis schoutedeni add an extra appeal to these useful catfish.  Unfortunately, they don't all show the pinks and yellows, but the standard colored ones look good also.

Not from the Lakes.  Your Synodontis schoutedeni may not mix with African cichlids.  The larger specimens do.  The littler ones not so much.

Even at one inch, this tiny Synodontis schoutedeni is a real eye-catcher.

Last Words.  We housed four of the inch-size Synodontis schoutedeni with small African cichlids unsuccessfully.  The schoutedenis slowly disappeared over time.  Larger ones do much better.  You will want to provide some sort of cave or rock formation for yours to hide in.  LA
