LA Pic With the exception of their red eyes, these guys look a lot like little Dempseys. Betcha if you artificially crossed a Dempsey with a red devil you'd get a potful of these guys. LA Pic As they grow/mature to 3 inches, flower horns start developing red on their body. LA Pic Flower horns get along together less and less as they grow. Small ones cost less. LA Pic Adult flower horns cost much more (maybe even hundreds more) -- but look really great. LA Pic Some flower horns look greater than great. LA Pic Nice looking flower horn cichlid. No doubt about it. LA Pic Flower horns are a "manufactured fish" like the red parrot cichlid. You can see the red devil blood in here plus dempsey or salvini. We have not bred them or talked to a U.S. flower horn breeder yet. LA Pic As we said, flower horns like to argue. Give them separate tanks or a very large tank. LA Pic Not all flower horns look great. There's three or four grades. The best cost more. This guy costs less. Big -- but no cigar. LA Pic And other color flower horns exist. This is the golden variety. If you artificially crossed a red devil with a gold dempsey, you'd probably get these guys. LA Pic Larger gold flower horn cichlid. LA Pic A couple months later, he's even more striking. LA Pic Even before they develop their red pattern, flower horns look good. LA Pic Good finnage on this flower horn, needs more color.
