Hi- I think the "unknown turtle" on your start page is a
Peninsula Cooter or Florida Cooter
Pseudemys
peninsularis or P. floridana (you would need to look at
the spots along the edge of the plastron to
differentiate). They are herbivores (but don't trust them
with
pet fish, crabs, etc.) that need to be kept
warm. Best,
LA
A: Not an exact match in the pics but close.
I'll use your suggestion until I learn more. LA

Looks like a map turtle.
A: Good call. Still, there are a dozen or so
map turtles in the U.S. I'll put your info on the Misc Turtles
page. Thanks. LA

On your home page, the unidentified turtle is a yellow- belled
slider. Similar to red ears except their plastrons are brighter
yellow, and there is no red behind their eyes. They, unlike red
ears, are actually native to Florida.
A: You nailed it. I'm adding your info to my
Misc Turtles V page. Thanks. LA
